NGK Spark Plugs
This might sound like a stupid question, but I'm trying to replace the spark plugs on my 79 GS850GN. The old ones have a threaded pin, but the new ones - the same model NGK B8ES - have a solid pin. I can't find the old ones anywhere. Can someone tell me which plugs will fit a '79 bike? Thanks! -
Unscrew your "solid pin", you will have what you need.

Make sure you get the plugs with the correct item number.
NGK B8ES, item # 3683, have the solid terminal.
NGK B8ES, item # 2411, have the screw on terminal.
The NGK plug name (B8ES, etc) is not a complete descriptor. The item # is unique. Tell the auto parts staff you need “NGK 2411 B8ES” and you will get the correct plug.

resistance on my 1/4 coil measures 11.67K, while the right coil measures 12.40K. spark plug caps are original, and found one that was open and one with an intermittent reading so they will all be replaced. should i use resistor plugs DR8EA with my new NGK 5 ohm caps? bike has Dyna S ignition. tia,
