    1977 GS400X Advance Assembly Replacement

    Hi All,

I found when riding that my bike seemed to loose some power over 4K rpm. I started by checking the timing which I couldn’t properly set even when the plate was maxed out in one direction. Then I checked the advance assembly. It looks like the feet that contact the lobe are very worn or like someone had grinded them down at some point for some reason.

I checked online and found that that part (33120-44011) has been discontinued. Does anyone know where to get a replacement (besides eBay, I didn’t see any direct replacements on there).

    Thanks,
    Ryan

      What's wrong with eBay?

eBay is a great place to get parts that are no longer availabe, the only bad part is knowing that what you're getting is better than what you already have when it comes to used parts. Luckily I've yet to encounter something I couldn't get new, sometimes that takes some digging.

I actually found an electronic ignition unit upgrade that replaces both the points and the centrifugal timing advance. Seems like it eliminates more future problematic variables.
