I looked through our local Kijiji ads for "ATV and Snowmobiles - parts". I found a guy who was parting out a 2013 Polaris 800 snowmobile. I called him and asked if he still had the voltage regulator and if so could he send me a picture of and numbers on it.

So I went and got it after handing him $80 Cdn.

No, I don't think so. When you see the item location and that location is "China", you might do well to take a pass on it.Larry

Nope, not an SH775.
Four things jump out at me.
1. There are no round nubs on any of the fins.
2. The bottom plate is black, not silver metal
3. There is no "SH775" on the back fin
4. It's too clean, as well as black.
All of the SH775 regulators:
- have 8 round nubs on the fins.
- The bottom plate is silver metal
- they have SH775, plus a couple more letters on the back fin
- used items in this price range are usually dirty and are a dark gray
- don't come from China
Here is a link to a good one, notice all the points that I mentioned are shown in the pictures.

So finally got my stator and SH775 installed and hooked up. The voltage across the battery is about 14.3V no matter the RPM.
Here is something you might find interesting: my stator was burned out so I bought a relacement on eBay. While I was waiting for it to arrive there was no stator inside the magnetic rotor. I think this might have caused the magnetism to weaken because when I finally put the new stator in I started the engine and measured the AC voltage between the stator leads. At idle I only got about 13V. Then a couple of weeks later I repeated that test and got 15.4V between stator leads. I'm thinking that having the new stator in place brought the magnetism back.
So maybe, as a rule, you shouldn't leave the rotor empty for an extended period. Leave the cover with the old stator in until the new one can go in.

I should add that the SH775 mounted in the same location as the OE regulator, under the battery box. Screw locations evened lined up but had to use shorter screws.
