Self cancelling turn signal issues solved!!! Well maybe???
After reading posts and schematics, to the point of exhaustion, trying to solve the problem of self cancelling turn signals on my GS1000: I think I found the solution in this months VJMC edition. Check out this link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XD71KSW. I think I'm going to invest in this for my 1980 GS1000 and see what happens. If anyone else invests and installs let us know how it works. Thanks All -

The 1980 and later TSCU is reasonably reliable. And if it fails it's not hard to find a new one on ebay. It's the early bikes that had the more problematic system. Guess what I'm driving at is questioning if you have done all you can to fix the old system? It's pretty simple really. The turn signals will flash in manual mode without the TSCU installed at all. If your system won't there is a more fundamental issue that needs to be rectified.Ed

I ended up having to buy a new controller for my '81. It wasn't cheap. I got burned on a used one from E-Bay. My Yamahas with self cancelling allow you to push the center to stop the blinking. You don't have to. The canceler on my '76 RD400 isn't working. I've got a spare in my luggage though. We will see.sigpic Too old, too many bikes, too many cars, too many things

TSCU's can be found on ebay for $25. Before purchase you might want to touch base with the seller and confirm function, or at least make it clear that you will be returning it if it doesn't work.
Oh, and if you can find an agreeable GSR member in your area that will loan you a known good unit that would be a great way to confirm your bike is okay.Ed
