This should be a "sticky" somewhere! Great job!Ron
When I die, just cremate me and put me in my GS tank. That way I can go through these carbs, one more time!https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/core/images/smilies/cool.png

In theory you should wire it back through the fuse box. The electronics of it go over my head a bit but it's something to do with returning current. Having said that... the initial thinking on these was to wire the way Eastern Beaver show & my Skunk has been wired that way for a long time... probably about 8 years and 12k miles+ without any issue.
If you do it that way you will need a bigger fuse. I found that even a 20A blows in that spot sometimes & run a green 30 Amp fuse (This is also something to do with the returning current and again is sort of over my head).
I also use one of the "indicator" fuses that lights up when it blows... just seemed like a good idea at the time (as if it blows the bike will run fine until you run out of battery...)
There is also some argument on here whether to run a ground straight back to the battery or to run it to a "Single point ground" which is basically a bolt somewhere on the chassis & then run that back to the battery. In practice I've found either way works again....1980 GS1000G - Sold

You can run it straight to the battery through an auxiliary fuse but splitting the + out like shown is better because it feeds the bike directly and only the left over power comes back to the battery, not all of it. Jim Pos can explain better.Ed

Just picked up a couple used ones just to have on hand for $35 each on ebay. Converted all my bikes to the SH775BA and have never had an issue. Yes, wire it into the original wire harness location and it's plug and play. On my 1982 GS850GL it mounted exactly where the old one was with no modifications accept longer SS cap head screws.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg

Has anyone bought from this seller before? I am worried about getting a counterfeit.
Or alternatively, does anyone know of a reputable US Ebay seller?
I want to make the conversion on my 82 GS300 project.
Thanks!
