    Gs1150es

Can anyone tell me if the rear blinkers are supposed to have running lights or is it only the taillight? because my front blinkers have running lights, except my rear blinkers don't.

Running lights on the front only. Rear blinkers are blinkers only.

I have the 2 element bulbs in the rear. should I swap them out for single element bulbs? Thanks for answering my question. also are you pretty good at the electrical on this bike?

        Glad to help.
The dual element 1157 bulbs and corresponding sockets are different from the single element 1156 bulbs, so the bulbs are unique. It sounds like the bike ended up with front signals in the back. The combo front signals have 3 wires, while the single rear ones are two wire so there is a good a chance that the wiring / plugs may have been modified. You may be able to do some checking / testing and just leave the running light wire from the signal unused. I think that's the smaller / dimmer element in the bulb.

As far as electrical knowledge, I've been fairly lucky. Other then the typical stator and regulator/rectifier failure that most every long-term GS owner experiences, I've had very few issues.

Wow you are right about this bike having front blinkers in the rear. because the rear sockets have dual element contacts. hints the reason I have 1157 bulbs front and back. this is why I raised the question am I supposed to have running lights on the rear blinkers. lol I know the taillight is also a running light.

I would like to talk with you if you have time. I have a few issues I would like to pick your brain about. Would you have a moment to talk?

I've done this before on purpose. Put dual element lights on the rear and tie the two elements together. Makes for some very good turn signals.
