    Turn signal control box wiring

    Hi all

Huge request... Has anyone or could anyone supply a photo or diagram showing the order of the coloured wires going into the socket to the turn signal control box (Pic attached) on a 1983 GSX1100 SD?

It's the one thing that's never worked correctly unless you bypass it so purchased a new one which made no difference. On closer inspection I noticed that the socket it plugs into has been tampered with so suspect that a previous owner has removed the pins for whatever reason and replaced them incorrectly.

    Many thanks in advance

The factory service manual for your bike has a full wiring diagram. If you don't already have one you can download the manual from basscliff's website.

Many thanks for the prompt reply… I have 3 different wiringdiagrams and they all only show the 7 wires going into a block but unfortunatelythey don’t show the pin order from 1 to 7 in 2 rows (1 row of 4 and 1 row of 3).Need to confirm that each of the coloured wires is going to the correct pin.

As long as the colors and functions for each ultimately match up then you are going to be fine

That’s the thing... I have seven wires that I know thefunction of and I have the turn signal control box which has seven pins. But, Idon’t know what wire goes to what pin as I believe the socket have beentampered with and the wires have been mixed up.

The circuit diagram from the workshop manual simply has theseven wires going into a box marked as “Turn Signal Control Box” but no orderis given. The control box itself is just a plain black box with no reference asto what pin relates to what function i.e. black/white (ground) wire = pin?

What I’m trying to get hold of is either a photo of someone’scorrectly wired socket going into the control box so I can make a visualcomparison or a circuit diagram of the control box itself which would highlight what function relates to what pin. I’ve searched high and low and have come upwith neither so far :-(
