    help Identifying part

I cant seem to be able to identify this part. I read about a CDI but it looks much different than this. Any help would of course be most apreciated

The little black box with tape around it might be ??

It looks like some type of relay. Perhaps for the turn signal?

Take the tape off and look for a part #. If no one else chimes in with the answer, I'll look at my bike tonight and see if I can help. Should be the same on the "T"

Definitely a relay, definitely not stock. Follow the wires to see where they go.

And please remove "CDI" from your GS vocabulary, our bikes don't have one.

Looks like a flasher alright. One that has been taped to the original bracket because the original rubber mount has gone or didn't fit the replacement unit.

I will respectfully suggest that it's NOT a flasher. Some flasher units are cylindrical, others are rectangular. This one is rather square and has a tab going up one side for mounting. Very typical of a Bosch-type relay. Most of the rectangular flashers used on a GS have a rubber sleeve with a slot in it that slides over a tab on the frame.
