Snipped ignition leads GS650 HELP!
Hi folks, I just picked up a 1981 GS 650. Previous owner said someone tried to steal it by snipping the leads. I can’t figure out where to connect these though and Google hasn’t offered any help.Tags: None

First time poster and I see that photo is of little use/help. There are 4 wires that were snipped. Looks like 1 red, orange, grey and maybe a brown. I can't figure out where they would connect to, though I suspect they belong in the larger harness that runs from headlight/gauge cluster down to the coil. Am I way off?

Those four wires go from the main harness to the ignition switch.
There should be a 4-pin connector there. If there is not, it got cut off, along with the switch, so you will need a switch and a matching connector. Connectors are easily obtained, but you need to know where to look and how to properly attach them.
Do you still have the ignition switch on the bike? If you do, that's half the battle.
