Not me but for that kind of money why not just go with the SH775 and be done with it?1980 Yamaha XS1100G (Current bike)

No experience with that one, but that is an awful lot of money for a unit that works just like the stock one.
You would be MUCH better off with the SH775 R/R. I can do a search and throw some links in your direction if you wish.

I only see two worth mentioning at the moment, but you might contact Nessism to see if he has any available. He searches for them, then tests them before sale.

Might have to re-locate it.
I am fortunate that our shafties have the R/R under the battery box. Others have moved the fusebox or ignitor to make a bit of room, or possibly moved the R/R to the back of the battery box.

The SH775 is way bigger than my stock one, I mounted it on the plate where the stock tools where, next to the battery under the right side cover.1980 Yamaha XS1100G (Current bike)

Trevor, If you've got a plate for a tool bag there like on my bike, you could do something like this. Tool kit was long gone so I had this plate sitting in a box of spare parts. Glad I kept it. If was the perfect spot for the much bigger SH775, and it gets plenty of air, even behind the side cover. The tool kit plate only need very slight modification, mostly with a hammer and a drill.

I don't know whereabouts the 750's RR sat but the 775 sits perfectly where my stock ones sat behind the battery using the same screw holes. It gets the same amount of air the previous one does sitting under the seat (doesn't need to sit out in the open) and I have been running the one on my 550 for about 7 years and my daughter's for a couple.Cowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace

If you replace your ignition with a Dyna S it can mount where the original ignition module went. You have just improved reliability on both systems...
All my bikes have been converted to the SH775. Don't buy a "new" one from eBay, they are fake. Get a used one from a Polaris RZR800. Amazing how many are crashed and parted out.sigpic
