whats the 14 on the bottom of the master cylinder for, and look at it now not all the way stripped but looking clean. im gonna attempt to get the banjo off soon probably before i paint it but im doing other pieces as of now, gonna post those in the appearance section when its all done
i dont know what im doing when getting parts like that so im just trying to make sure im getting the correct thing, i dont know much at all lol.
also repainting all this stuff makes me want new bolts, now i have to get bolts. gonna clean the ones that are good but ones that are stripped or rusted out im replacing.

14mm is the piston size. That's normal for a single sided brake. Twin brakes generally use a 5/8" piston.1980 GS1000G - Sold

You can use a master cylinder off any of the GS bikes I would think. Not sure about the 650 in particular. I run a Kawasaki Ninja 300 one on the Skunk but it required some mods to fit.

okay so got my stuff today, was 3 pieces for the assembly, screws, cover, and the holder, the screws and cover look correct, and the holder is aswell, but im missing that red plate with the "prongs".
am i able to reuse that piece? its got green corrosion but i can clean it. but if its a cheap part and somebody could link me to it id probably get it. i guess i shouldve bought the whole assmebly for the brakeswitch but it was $9 for the pieces separately as opposed to $25 alltogether, guess thats why its more though.Ian
