    1982 Gs750t coil suggestions.

Looking for suggestions as to what set of coils I should buy for my 82 750t. Theres plenty online as to what would replace them but I wanna make sure I buy a good set. Any information as to what set to look for and what not to buy would help greatly!! Thanks in advance!!

I’m going to answer a question with more questions. Are your coils physically cracked and/or leaking? I have been lucky enough to not experience any issues with my original coils, yet. Have you taken the SP caps off, clipped back and freshened up the ends and reinstalled the caps? What diagnostic process/measurements have led to your conclusion that you need to replace both coils? Not a dig. I’m legitimately curious.

Get the green 3ohm Dyna coils with the Dyma wires. That is one of the first things I do when putting a ol' GS on the road. Does you GS have points? Yank them out too! Get the Dyna S ignition. For about $300 you'll be golden. 👍

Yeah....what do you think is wrong..ignition coils are very durable, while ignitors are not. What issues are you having?

I have not had issues with the coils on my “T” either.

If I were to change them, it would be because I’m upgrading the ignition system.

          If it ain’t broke...

My wires are completely shot as are the boots. They were both taped with electrical tape completely from one end to the other. I removed the tape only to find dry rot throughout both wires. I've rebuilt most of the bike and cant seem to get any spark from either coil. A gentleman tested both with a multimeter and neither have any readings whatsoever. Even if they did, as. Ad of shape as they are both in I figured I'd just replace them.

Pull them old dogs out of there. Get the Dyna coils and wires and don't look back. The nice thing about the Dyna coils, the plug wires are easily replaced if ever needed. It's a cheap upgrade.

My "83" 1100E has Accell, on it when I got it, I wish it had the orig. I've had a bunch, but never had a coil problem from an orig Zuke coil. Lucky I guess.

I replaced the stock coils on my bike once it was off warranty, went with the Accell super coils. Still on the bike today, never a problem or a miss from them.
