    Mechanical advance governor

Bike: 1978 GS750E. Does anyone know the difference between the 2 mechanical advance part numbers listed on the fiche? Mine is rusted hard and both part numbers appear to be available on ebay BUT...I’m not sure which to order. I see what looks like identical units to what I have under both part numbers...

    Parts 11-1 and 11-2 here:

ETA. To further confuse me, one part had “ND” as part of the description which i assume means NipponDenso and I have the ND ignition but the other part lists “B,C&EC” in the description and my particular bike is the GS750EC

I don't think you can mix them.... you have Nippon Denso parts while other '78 750's have KD Kokusan Densi. Sorry, that's all I've got.

Sounds like you need to learn some of the alphabet soup related to GSes.
(At least it's not as confusing as all the letters on a Harley. )

Your GS750EC says that it's (approx) 750cc, the "E" says it's the deluxe model with a few extras (cast wheels, triple disk brakes, maybe a few other things), the "C" says it's a 1978 model.

The GS750B would be a 1977 model. I don't think there was an EB.

You still need to be mindful of the ND vs. KD ignition parts, the years won't matter all that much.

Well, i took a chance and bought a NOS governor from ebay, looks clean and when I zoomed into the photos posted I can see the “ND” logo. Hoping that’s the one...
