    Flasher not flashing

Im rebuilding a 1982 GS650 GL and I have a problem with the left flashers. When I put the turn signal on « right » the two right flashers blinks, as its supposed to but when I but it on « left », the left flashers dont blink and just stays on, without blinking. Any ideas as to where the problem might be?B2A0BB57-81AD-4893-917B-7B2DAFBA05F1.jpg I know the picture isnt of much use.

Both front & rear need to be on & with the correct bulbs, different bulbs may or may not pull enough current to make the flasher work. Be sure the grounds are good on both front & rear.

The fact that does flash on one side tells you the flasher (if want to call it that) does work.
THe fact that other side comes on but doesnt flash, tells you that is less than expected-stock current draw on that side. EIther one bulb is burnt out or bad connection or lower wattage bulb. (later note: but picture shows both bulbs on, so bulbs are not burnt out.)

THe rate of flashing is a function of the ammount of current that heats upa heater in the flasher.

Other possibility is that system voltage is lower, so the current is lower. (and one side is a little differnt to make a differnce at thatlower voltage).

Try it again with engine running at mid rpms (say 4k rpm) so charging system is operating to raise the voltage. Maybe check battery voltage at 4k rpm as a check of the charging system.

Problem solved. It was the bulb that wasn’t pulling enough current. I changed it and it works without problem. Thanks!
