What does the MS number on certain parts stand for?

I've been looking for a replacement for a cam chain tensioner and an oil pump screen.
In both cases, I've been able to locate them by part number on the parts fiche, but the ones available also have an MS number attached that I'm clueless about.
For instance, the tensioner part number on the fiche is 12830-0930V, but the ones I find on ebay include 12830-0930V MS12 or MS36 and a variety of other MS suffixes.
Can anyone fill me in as to what these mean so I don't order an incompatible part?
