The 1100G does use the wider rim but I don't think that affects the distance between the fork legs in this case.... I think it's only the GK that has a wider one. I might be wrong.1980 GS1000G - Sold

I sorta doubt you will get much of an answer as that's an oddball matchup. Unless amazingly the serial #'s match. But who is gonna be trying that? Don't buy one if you can't try it. I put a GS850G front fender on the same year GS1000E (79) and it worked out fine - but didn't share the same part number. What's the story, are you looking to buy one sight unseen? What led you up this path that would prevent you from just trying it?Last edited by oldGSfan; 02-22-2025, 10:07 AM.Tom

There is a Suzuki GS450S fender in good nick on Ebay from an OZ seller so just asked him for some dimensions to see if that can work.1982 GS1100G, 1983 GS1100GK, 2004 Yamaha R1

I think the stock front tyre might also be wider on the GK. From memory the standard mudguard has clearance issues with that tyre size.1980 GS1000G - Sold

Here are the dimensions for anyone else looking them up in the future:
GS1100Gk vs GS1100G
Front Rim size: both 19 inch rims and both have a width of 2.8 inches
Fork diameter: 1.8 vs 1.5 inches
Distance between forks: 6.5 vs 6.5 inches
Distance between screws where the mudguard attaches between the forks: 5.75 / 5.3 inches
So yeah there is a difference between the two. Also the rear rim/tire is wider on the GK and also the swing arm is shorter making the bike sit lower.1982 GS1100G, 1983 GS1100GK, 2004 Yamaha R1
