vin on motor and frame?

Is the vin on the frame and motor always the same? My title matches the motor but not the frame?

on import bikes the title should match the frame(neck stamping).
i think on pre-80 GS models that the engine should have a partial of your vin on it.
after 80 they became batch numbers on the engines.
HD title's require both engine/frame/tranny match or some kinda dumb shlt.
bottom line is your title should match your frame 100%.

YOU HAVE a problem. Most if not all motor vehicle department go by the frame vin #s If the frame and title vin doesn't match you need to check with the seller you bought the bike from.
In Calif they list both the Vin # and the engine # on the title.. Still the frame # is the important one. Those two serial numbers are different
