Clutch Cover
With an 1100GL on the side stand, can you remove the clutch cover and not lose oil. Not being cheap here but I just changed oil about 500 miles ago and I will be removing the stator cover about a week later. I was hoping not to have to drain the oil and leave it out for a week. Just cosmetic stuff for the covers. While I'm asking, how about removing the stator cover while on the center stand and not losing oil? Thanks Jim M1983 GS 1100 Guided Laser

You won't lose any oil when you remove the clutch cover with the bike on the kickstand, and when you remove the stator cover with the bike on the centerstand, you'll lose a little bit -- maybe 2 to 4 ounces.
You will get some drips when you remove the clutch cover, so put a pan under there anyway.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
