    Speedo drive

Hiya all, does anyone know if its possible to dismantle the speedo drive on a gs1000 if so how? Thanks

Clean it off a bit and you'll find a circlip.

    It's very straightforward from there.

In a related question, the tab broke off in my speedo drive. Can you buy individual parts for the drive? Does it need to be replaced as a unit? A good link would be much appreciated!

Individual parts are not available, but the same speedo drive works on most, possibly even all, GS models with the same size front wheel.

Post up in the parts wanted section and I'm sure someone will sell you a speedo drive cheap.

You can cross-reference parts using Suzuki part numbers from http://partshark.com or http://alpha-sports.com in conjunction with the part number search at http://www.babbittsonline.com/
