Idiot Plug Question

Trying to order some new spark plugs for my 1978 GS750, but I am dumb. I understand that the correct plug is NGK B8ES. When I look them up, however, I find two different listings for plugs that are supposed to fit:

NGK B8ES

and

NGK B8ES solid.

What is a "solid" plug? Do both types fit? If so, is one better than the other?

Checked various manuals, the NGK site and the internets, but I find nothing to explain the distinction between these parts. The prices are identical, so I can go either way. Just don't want to order some plug that won't work. Also, since they are the same price, obviously I'd prefer to buy the better ones.

I don't know what "solid" means, but maybe its in reference to not having that threaded dealy bob on the top, which we usually take off before installing the plugs. I'd get the regular flavor NGK just to be safe.

I, too, have never seen the option offered, but would go with the "standard".

I also concur. In the quick research I've just completed, "solid" refers to the terminal type. The terminal is where it connects to the plug cap. They seem to be more expensive than the standard B8ES too.

Nessism is correct. Aluminum screw-on tips are standard vs. the "solid" tip. Apparently vibration can cause the tips to unscrew during operations, so solid tip is preferred unless you actually need to remove the screw on tips like we do.

It sounds like the gap is a factor too, with solid plugs set up for a smaller gap.
