    Damping Adjuster - GS1100EX Forks

So I've got the forks off my 1981 GS1100EX with plans of installing new seals and dust caps. Noticed in the manual it says to "pull off" the black plastic "damping adjuster" at the bottom of each fork.

Since mine are in great shape and still properly click into place, I don't want to mess this simple step up. Do I just grab the plastic knob and pull them straight off? twist and pull? .... or is there a trick to this first step?

Just couldn't find any post on this item, so advice would be appreciated.

With more searching, finally found the answer elsewhere on the site. The answer is ... give the black plastic damping adjuster knobs a "big yank" and they should pull right off.
