    Idea for Sealing Cases

I was watching a tv show lastnight where they show how products were made and they were building a small aircraft engine. They used case sealer and then ran a small silk thread along the entire sealing surface to further help prevent leaks.

Would there be any benefit or harm from doing this on a GS?

They have always done this on airplane engines, as the thread won't blow out in a huge chunk like a gasket can. It doesn't really seal perfectly, slight oozing is OK in airplanes, they just don't want any sudden failures. They ooze quite commonly. But you could try it and let us know how it works. Some of our covers need a certain thickness of gasket to work correctly, too.
