    Idle.....

    Hi all,

Might seem a simple question, but whats the best way of setting my idle speed?

I would normally let the bike warm up fully and then set it to about 1500 revs, but lately when I get home from even a short 15min spin I notice I have to turn it down a bit when I get home as its reving too high (about 2500ish), and then yesterday it seemed to drop right down after a ride and my bike nearly konked out as I pulled up on may driveway!
Once I adjust it again she ticks over perfect.

My tach cable broke two weeks ago, at the enigine side, and I stuck a new one on today and its working fine, but I just cant stop thinking that something must have caused it to snap
Any advice or ideas would be great?

Rising idle is the classic sign of an intake leak. FInd it and fix it.

As to the tach cable, they just break sometimes.

      Yup and yup.

I just ordered two tach cables from Z1. Cables for the 850G were $12.78, other models might be a bit different.
