Speedo/Tach face Screws

How maintenance-friendly are the instrument clusters in terms of getting to the faces of the speedo and/or tach? When I got the bike, one small screw was missing from the tachometer face, and now one has backed-out of the speedo face and it's just sitting at the bottom of the gauge.

I'd like to replace the screws before the remaining ones let go...

No, the guages not too friendly at all.

If you go to the effort to get the gauges out of thier cases you will find the glass is held in place with the metal bezel crimped to the plastic body.

Some folks have said they were able to pry back the metal bezel. Others have cut all around the plastic with a dremel tool. I just looked at a loose screw for about 10 years.

Okay, thanks for that. Seems like I can let this issue slide, then. Just thought if it weren't a big hassle, it'd be nice to put-right.

It's a relatively easy matter to pry the bezel open and fix the gauge. Work slowly using a small blade screwdriver and pry a little at a time. The photos show some after shots of when I replaced a screw and removed a spider from a GS450 gauge. To recrimp the gauge use the screwdriver (or a punch) and a hammer.
