    seat stuck

My seat is stuck locked. The pin is frozen, but the key turns 3/4 the way freely. I have tried spraying it with penetrant and lube, but it's still stuck. Has anyone else had this problem or know where I should start?

      Hi,

On your '78 GS1000, can you wiggle the seat or push it down to free the latch as you jiggle the key?

      Thank you for your indulgence,

On my 250 i have 2 metal spring loaded tabs that lock the seat in place about half way up each side, as well as the key on the back.

Can you see the cable housing underneath the seat?

Force a small screwdriver up between the pin and latch while you turn the key
