Speedometer squeek

Hello folks,

So i recently had to replace my speedometer and the new unit has developed a squeek at above 10 mph. The squeek is so loud, i can clearly hear it over the engine while doing 50-60 on the highway. I know its not the cable because i tested it out with the cable disconnected from the unit. Any ideas for how to fix this squeek, otherwise i'm going to have to try and open the unit and clean it out, or even have to replace it altogether. Any suggestions are much appreciated

Turn it upside down and let some oil soak in to the cable connection

Turn it upside down and let some oil soak in to the cable connection

This worked great, i wiped out the connection then did a quick soak in oil.
