    89gs1100L 530 conversion

    is there any diff in doing the 530 conv for the L bikes verses the Es. and does anyone know off hand what size offsett i need for the frt sproket (i think that is all i need right>>>offset frt 530 sproket 530 rear sproket and a 530 chain )

    No difference. The L had a 15/40 ratio and the E had a 15/42 ratio; but otherwise it's the same.
    No need for an offset sprocket as the front sprocket sits flat on the countershaft bushing - you need a 6mm spacer on the nut side of the sprocket.
    I kept my ratio stock L with a 17/45 and 114 link chain. In hindsight, I should have used a 18/48 or 18/50, which would use a 116 link chain.
