Oil consumption with syn. and mineral oil

Is there any difference in oil consumption, when using synthetic or mineral oil?

I´ve got supercharged GS 1150 and now there is Motul 5100 15W/50 oil.
The oil consumption is about 1 quart / 250 miles.
Engine is bored with new pistons about 2000 miles ago. There could be some minor lekages in exhaust valve guides, but they should not leak that much.
Exhaust tip is dry as is the breather filter.
I have been thinking to change the engine oil to Motul 5000 10W/40 or Delvac 10W40.

That sounds like a lot of oil consumption for such a low mileage engine. You might want to perform a leak down test to check the condition of the ring seal.

I don't think you will see improved oil consumption by changing the oil, particularly if you use a thinner oil than the current 15W-50. If anything I'd go with something thicker, such as 20W-50, assuming the temperature is acceptable for such an oil. Synthetic or mineral oil shouldn't make a difference.

I would run mineral oil to give the rings a chance to seat

Think to try next Delvac MX 15W/40 to see what happens to
cold engine smoking and oil consumption.
