    Fork Seal replacement

I am going to be replacing the fork seals in my 78 gs750 shortly. Is any particular brand better then the other? Also, I will be lowering the forks when I have them apart. Will the fork oil level remain the same?

    Hi,

OEM parts/seals/gaskets are always the best, although I did use K&L seals last time. Members have spoken well of the leak proof moly seals. The fork oil level will be in your manual. How are you lowering the forks? What bike are we talking about?

    Thank you for your indulgence,

The bike is a 1978 GS750. I will be lowering them with a spacer on the damper. I was actually reading the how-to on your site the other day. The PO lowered them but not the proper way. Do you happen to know what the stock length of the forks are on my bike? What i.d. and o.d. is needed for the spacer?

Also, any recommendations as to where to get seals? I was looking at ebay but most don't list a brand.

Order OEM seals from PartShark or Bike Bandit....

I don't trust anything else anymore...tried the Leak Proof brand...lasted only 4000 miles....
