Thank you! I assume that is to the top of the axle tube? Or is it the nut/flange on the cap?
So the PO of my bike lowered the forks but he did it incorrectly. I'm going to be tearing them apart to install new seals and plan on lowering them the proper way. I am happy with the height they are now which is about 27 3/4-28". Is this too much of a drop?

So I managed to get the forks apart and was a bit suprised with what I found. I attached a pic of how everything came apart. I assume the spacer to left with the marker by it was put in to lower the forks. I also assume that the green spring with the marker by it was also added. In a box of parts that came with the bike, I found the spring that is off to the top. I think it is the orignal spring that was in the fork.
So, assuming this is correct, it looks like the added spring is a bit short for the amount of spacer added. In which case, I should be able to cut the other spring to the proper length and be good to go.
I am hoping you guys can verify that I am correct in my thinking. This is the first pair of forks I have had apart and they have been modified by the PO so I just want to make sure I am doing things correct.
P.S. When I put these back together, how do I tighten the bottom bolt since the damper does not have a nut/notch like many of the other years/models.
