    sometime knob rotate, cam chain

Last year I follow Mr. Brian Wringer`s Cam Chain Tensioner Rebuild, on my GS650GT. And it work very fine. I have run about 3000km after that. But now, when I start, sometime knob rotate (and it sound noisy), but stops when I rev it. What should I do now. Try to reset it again?

Sorry for my bad english (I`m norwegian )

My maternal grandpa was from Norway! Anyways, are you sure you released locking screw 1/4 turn and locked it tight, so sliding shaft can advance and take up chain slack? If that big knob is vibrating, something is wrong- like a lost steel ball, since this would allow shaft to push back.

Maybe the torsion spring is broken or it has slipped out of the hole in the knob. Those are the only things I can think of that would allow the knob to rotate after 3000km of correct operation.

Remove and test it per specifications in the manual.

Thanks for the advice. I will check it out. Hopefully tomorrow. It is the irregularity that makes me confused

            Update

If think the setscrew was not loosened enough, so that the pushrod was not all the way out. I adjust it and it seem to work fine now.

I`m so lucky that I sometime can use my bike in work, here is a picture from todays inspection

That's a pretty specimen, sir. If you still get an occasional rattle from the cam chain tensioner, try adding another 1/2 turn of tension on the knob spring (make sure you lock the tensioner first with the lock screw and unlock it afterward obviously).
