And while the bezel is off you can also dip the needle end in some new red paint. And you can clean the inside of the glass as well.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

And if you spin the cable too fast and max out the speedo for too long you may possibly damage the nylon gears in there...i dont suggest that method of cranking it over.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

And you will for sure have to clean every inch of the insides using the dremel. As you cut thru the plastic tiny fragments are gonna get into every knook and cranny..It may take longer to pry the crimp up, but way less internal mess to deal with also.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

You can apply a thin bead of silicone around the rim of the cases to seal the trim and the glass up again and then recrimp the trim into place.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

ive taken my old one apart by uncrimping it, it wasn't to bed, but the dremel seam to be cleaner if you are more careful with it
