    Needs help on replaceing bearings

I inherated an 1980 450 from the neighbour when they moved. Only problems so far are Right fork is leaking fluid. I am going to see if some seal sealent will fix that. The problem that has me stuck however is the bottom bearings in the stearking is rusted and needs replacing. Any suggestions on how to get it off and how much the whole bearing housing/ring would cost to replace? Thanks Randy

I found a steering head bearing kit on BikeBandit for about $30 for my 550.

      Greetings and Salutations!!

      Hi Mr. rjdnephi,

You'll have to replace the fork seals. You can't just squirt some goop in there to stop the leak. You'll have to replace the fork oil too, so that you have the proper level in each fork. You'll find parts vendors in your "mega-welcome" and "how-to" guides on my little website.

Anyway, let me point you in the right direction, dump a TON of information on you, and share some GS lovin'.

I just stopped by to welcome you to the forum in my own, special way.

If there's anything you'd like to know about the Suzuki GS model bikes, and most others actually, you've come to the right place. There's a lot of knowledge and experience here in the community. Come on in and let me say "HOoooowwwDY!"....
