Do you replace your spark plugs before going on a tour?
I'm heading out for a +2 week North Country tour next week. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to change the spark plugs before the trip, or if I should just bring an extra plug with me. What would you do? -
Just bring spares...if needed them fine. If not then youll have them for the next time you do decide to swap them They dont take up any space to have along. Notice i used SPARES as in more than one!!MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

Depending on room in your pack..or saddle bags..I have seen guys take one of those emergency gas jugs that you get at an auto parts store along. Its a ealed container that you can store in the trunk just in case. If you get into an area that far and few between stations it may just come in handy. When we went out to Minnesota several years ago, I packed one..didnt need it but it was a comfort knowing it was handy if any of us did.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

++good idea on the small gas jug.
Its not fun running on reserve with no gas station in sight.

I have said the prayers to the cycling gods a few times myself...and luckily made it..The one time you dont overprepare it bites you in the butt. I like that insurance commercial about avoiding mayhem..LOLMY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
