    Lubrication in spedometers

I decided to cut open my guages and clean them out the other day, and it has done wonders for them! The only thing is, all of the moving parts inside the guage are now only lubricated with WD40. I know this won't last forever, and that I need to put something else on them. What has everyone else used to lubricate the little gears and moving parts inside the guages?

PS, I haven't glued the body back together yet, I just taped it together so i could go on a test run.

I don't think and lube is needed. A small dab of lithium on the gears maybe? And then only if the unit is completely seal-able.
Any lube on the rotating bits for the needles might cause lag or inaccuracy.

      Hi,

Some silicone lubricant spray would work just fine, not be too messy, and last for quite a while. So be careful not to squirt anything else.

      Thank you for your indulgence,

Beeswax furniture polish. Only lasts about 15 years so you'll need to do it again at some point.
