    82 gs550m starter cover bolts.

So I will be replacing the stator probably on Tuesday and I can't figure out how to get the inside starter cover bolt off without taking the carbs off to give me the room. I thought about sanding or cutting down a socket to give room between the bolt and cam chain tensioner, but are there any other tricks I'm not considering? I also thought about buying a ratchet wrench, but it needs to be thin around the end to fit just around the head of the bolt. There's not much room to get the bolt off.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

A ratcheting wrench is best if you can find one thin enough to get in there. Personally though I recommend taking the carbs off.

I just put a socket on the bolt and turned it with a vice-grip- broke free easy!
