    Non-GS timing-related question.

    '87 BMW 325i. Inline 6-cylinder.

Recently replaced the timing belt. Think I may have slipped the cam one or maybe two teeth from it's original position. Manual states that when doing the timing belt that one or two teeth in one direction or the other is not life-threatening to the engine, so I'm not particularly worried for the health of the engine.

All that said, I now have a very slight hesitation under 1k rpm that was not present before the new belt. I have to pull a bunch of stuff off of the engine for a different repair I need to perform, figured that I would correct the hesitation while I'm in the region.

My question is, in order to alleviate the slight hesitation under 1k rpm, should I advance or retard the cam sprocket a tooth (or two)?
