Kick starter locking ring
I don't use my kick starter often, but I like to do it occasionally so I know it works when I need it. Today I flipped it out and gave it a push and the lever fell to the ground . Apparently I am missing a locking ring. Looking at the Suzuki parts fiche I see the complete lever comes as a set. What kind of ring do I need here. What is it called exactly?

circlip
What you need is called a "circlip" and you can buy it from a bearing supply place. I would remove the last piece of kick starteer from the bike and take it into the shop, so they can measure it for fit.
Also watchout those ball berings dont fall out.
The good aussie repair would be a piece of fencing wire twisted up with pliers, but I digress...

The technical name of it is actually an E clip. Any hardware will have one. I think theres a washer then the clip.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
