Sounds like your caliper pistons are binding. This is common on old bikes when the pistons have to move a significant distance inside the bore (such as when changing pads).
There are no short cuts to good brakes. I recommend tearing down the system and cleaning out all the crud.Ed

Agreed with Ed...not cleaning those calipers and Master Cylinders (front and back) out correctly for all brakes could lead to some dangerous and scary seconds.Cowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace

Okay so I cleaned and rebuilt the calipers. New pads are installed but im getting a lot of drag when the wheel turns. Im thinking it could be in the actual Brake peddle anyone got any ideas on this? I also had a hard time getting the Calipers in place was a really tight fit! Thanks for checking out my post

The masters have a tiny relief port that's easily blocked by the smallest chunks of gunk. The brakes will start to self-actuate as they get warmer; there's nowhere for the excess fluid to escape to. If your caliper was bad enough that you're wondering how you could have gotten any braking at all, then that port is probably stuffed up too.
