oil leak aorund cam end plug

yes the toehr day i noticed on my 82 gs1100gk that there is a small amount of oil coming from behind the chome cam and cap. i took it off and it appears to be comin g from behind that half circle shaped plug. was unsure its you can replace them without doing a valved cover gasket or if you had to do that to. or is there any tricks to get them to seal so u do not have to replace them

How long has it been since your last valve adjustment? Sounds like it's time to take off the valve cover and either replace the half-moons, or at least seal them up on the curved area using some sealer like Threebond 1194. While the valve cover is off you can adjust the valves if you haven't done so recently.
