    14 /47 sprockets

    Hi everyone,

I have a 1985 GS 700 that I'm planning on putting a 14/47 520 chain on. Does anyone know if this will cause any interference issues? And any idea about how many links are needed?

    Thanks all

I would go bigger on the front as you'll trash the swingarm on overrun....

I ran a 16T - 42 from memory & didn't like the gearing so changed to a 16-47T. I wouldn't want to gear any lower than the 16-47T really. Maybe a 52 or something on the rear. That was on my 750. The rear wheel diameter was about the same as stock. Can't remember how many links I had in the chain, I sized it to suit.

I still have the 42T sprocket with about 1500 miles on it if it's any use to you...
