    tune up questions

My 81 gs550t has little power on the low rpm and backfires every once in a while, i also have an exhaust leak on carb 3 but it does not backfire out those pipes, what are my options, btw everything on the bike is OEM stock

Adjust the valves and replace the needed shims
FULL teardown and rebuild of carbs
    Replace the intake manifold Orings
    New plugs
Find the tutorial on replacing the wires
Check the plug boots for cracking
You know..ALL the basic tune up and maintenance..and never assume a previous owner did anything unless you personally know them or trust they did.
Look at Bikecliffs Website and get a free service manual download.......

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

I have done all that already, I'm at the tuning stage now, would the mixture screws help any?

          Yes.

If only there was a thread about basic running issues . . .
