Rotella Oil 15w-40

Shell Rotella jugs are also marked as meeting JASO MA spec's. Iv'e been using it for a number of years in multiple bikes and have had no issues. I prefer the 15W-40 white jug flavor. It doesn't seem to shear down as bad as the 5W-40 blue jug. Lots of discussion and UOAs (Used Oil Analysis) over on Bob Is The Oil Guy 4Ms.
I just bought a few jugs of MystiK 15W-50 for my Warrior (air cooled V-Twin). The bike calls for a thicker oil.

Shear stability is the main positive attribute of synthetic oil, so the the blue jug synthetic flavor should be significantly MORE shear stable, not less. The 5W cold temp viscosity is thinner than the 15W dino juice, so maybe there is a perception issue with that?

The 15W winter viscosity is a smig thick for use in frigid temperatures. Better to use 5W-40 Rotella synthetic oil in those instances.

Oh, and don't limit yourself to only Rotella, just about any diesel oil is a good choice for GS engines.

So the 15W 40 should be ok in warmer climates?

That's what I use. Just switched from Yamalube in the FZ1 to the Rotella 15/40 and noticed that the clutch rattle was gone instantly.

Then you need to hop onto the 402 and head towards Port Huron. By buying just three jugs at the Walmart in Fort Gratiot, you'll be money ahead including fuel.

Oh, and fuel was 88.3 a Litre last night

It's good for any climate other than may riding down near freezing.

Good stuff. More high pressure additives than common US market automotive oil.

Morning all,
For my Northern brethren Canadian Tire has 25% off Rotella starting tomorrow. I dont know if its a national offer or not, I'm in Southern Alberrta. Of course I got the flyer as I got home last night after having stopped at WalMart to get 5 liters.

When I look I find the SHELL ROTELLA name appears on several different oils. I get the BLUE jug at Walmart-about $21+/GALLON. This is listed as a FULL SYNTHETIC. I find the white jug ROTELLA is a SYNTHETIC BLEND and sells for around $13/gal. There may be other ROTELLA formulas. Am I reading this right? Realize this is an older conversation but I thought I saw the ROTELLA on sale at a warehouse store but my buddy pointed out this difference. I'm just sayin'
