No switch lever on my petcock?

I recently bought the bike, and the other day I go looking for the petcock to switch the fuel off, and noticed there was no switch lever, I went on eBay and search for one, some come with lever or with out, what's the deal with that?!
Any have an extra petcock laying around?

Well you can't trust anyone can you - thieving b*st*rds. Is your bike a 1980 by any chance? Or is it wearing a 1980 tank?

None of the Suzuki GS petcocks have an "off" position.

You must have a 1980. Mine has no resereve either. Don't really like that.

What is the problem? Buy a petcock if you must, but none have a shut off, and the 1980 petcock, which has 50mm bolt spacing, doesn't have a lever.

Measure (very carefully and accurately) the spacing on the fuel tap mounting bolt holes. If they are 50mm centre to centre you have a 1980 tank and that takes the leverless tap.

Best thing you can do is to go to Basscliffs page and down load the manual for your bike. Thats where I learned the petcock is a vaccuum system. And that my petcock had no lever. Then you can read the article called "where do these hoses go"....thats where I learned more on how the petcock works and how there are overflow tubes on the carbs so my bike does not burn me up in a firely ball if my floats stick.
Basscliffs site is essential to reading up and getting a grasp on basic GS functions and mechanics.
A little reading there will put you way ahead of the game and you wont be.freaking out. ha ha
I also suggest posting a pic of your petcock. It is surely an 80 style with no lever....They are 45$ on e bay, I received on and its seems to be of decent quality. I also disassembled my old one and after careful cleaning operates nicely too.
