I've got a couple years worth of dry and standing dead timber on the property, after that runs out I can get all I can haul worth of shipping pallets from the local agri/heavy truck/ford dealer.

They have a pile that would take years to burn through, and they add to it every day.

This thread here reminded me that I had taken some pictures that I forgot to post of my heat source.

    So here they are.

It provides a nice temperature rise over the -15C it was outside.
The garage is insulated, but not airtight in any way, not by a long shot.

I have one of these http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...8574_200178574 in my 26x30 uninsulated garage. I have it on a tool cart to get it off the floor so it is safer with gas fumes. On a cold day it wont heat the whole garage to T shirt worm, but it is very portable so I can move it to where I am and it heat that part of the garage.
