I see you have some Yammys in your bikes list. Z1 can get you a set of the Yamaha thread ( which i think is a 5MM thread ) adapters for those bikes as well..use with the same guages.

just got them about 2 month ago, they also need carbs rebuild, tanks cleaned out(they are coated, but have allot of varnish and crap in them),new tires, fluids changed, and batterys. the 750 needs front fork rebuilt as well and seat recovered. other then that, they appear to be solid, im the 2nd owner on them when ever ill do my order from z1, will get it from them,
            Thank You!
sorry for hijacking this thread b.t.w

Just read through the articles and they make it sound pretty simple... which means it's gonna be a pain. However it seems pretty straight forward so I'll order the parts and get to it.

Is the morgan carbtune really that much better than the Motion Pro? I probably won't use it much so saving a few dollars and getting the Motion Pro sooner would be nice. If the Morgan is that much better I will pull the trigger on it.

Are there any good places here in the U.S. to order the Morgan?

First, that would depend on which Motion Pro set you are talking about. They used to have a set of mercury gauges, but I don't think they are available any more. They have another set that uses blue fluid, which work OK. They also have a set of analog dial gauges that seem to work OK for some people.

How long do you plan on keeping your bike? Valve adjustment is recommended every 3-4000 miles. If you adjust any of the valves, you should re-sync the carbs. You will need that gauge set to check them again and again, every 3-4000 miles.

Personally, I would go with the Carbtune, but I won't be getting one until my set of mercury 'sticks' dies.
I have had them for 34 years so far, and they are showing no signs of getting ready to let me down.

Dunno about the old mercury tool, but I had the current Motion Pro and it sucked.

Even with the restrictors, the blue fluid shot to the top immediately on the first use, making it impossible to read. Motion Pro sent me a new bottle of fluid, but said that their tool often runs into problems with older large inline-4 engines, which would have been useful information BEFORE I bought the thing.

Ultimately, I bought the Carbtune, and that tool works perfectly.
