Helmet pivot
Being a klutz yesterday, I dropped my helmet on the ground while unclipping it from the bike helmet lock. Of course, it landed right on the pivot and popped the shield. I didn't realize until we got home that I lost the spring inside the pivot. I've looked online for replacement pivots and can't find any that match the shape. I'm wondering if someone can suggest an alternative pivot that will allow me to open and close the visor without the visor popping off.

Have you checked with the helmet manufacturer?
Sorry it's so obvious, but they are the ones most-likely to have it.

Hi,
Many riders replace their helmet every two years anyway. I use mine a little longer since I can remove and wash the internal padding.
Check with newenough.com for their closeout sales if you're on a tight budget. I picked up a decent spare HJC helmet (new) for $40 shipped a while back.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff

I'm thinking that's what I'll have to do. At least the helmet is usable for the time being as long as I keep the visor closed or fully open.
