    New cables with Daytona bars?

I think I'm gonna go with Daytona bars on my '80 850g. Anyone know if I'll need new (shorter) throttle and clutch cables, or can I just re-route the stock ones?
I also have Earl's stainless brakelines. I'm assuming I can shorten them if I need to and re-use the same fittiings, just buy a couple of new "olives"?
One more thing - I'm looking at buying a headlight bucket from an '83 850g. The parts fiche does not list a part number for it, so I'm not sure it it will work on my '80 850g. It appears to be slightly different. Anyone know if it'll work?
    Thanks!

The 1000S clutch cable is shorter and works perfectly with Daytona bars. Part# 58200-49011 Unfortunately, the similar throttle cable is out of stock but you might want to try the 1100ES version Part# 58300-00A10

Yes, you can shorten your Earl's brake lines. Get new olive (one side).

Not sure about the individual headlamp bucket parts, but the entire assembly should interchange without issue between different years on the 850.

Thanks for the info Ed. Much appreciated.
Do you know if the stock throttle cable can be successfully re-routed or I am just better off trying the part # you suggested?
      Thanks

In my opinion, getting shorter cables are the way to go. I'm just not positive what the best throttle cable option is.

I personally would just reroute. It doesn't even have to be dramatic. I ran euro bars on my GS1100G and think it looked fine with the stock cables. Never had any issues with operation, either. Had I ran clubmans or clipons, I'd have bought shorter cables.

A lot of times, local shops can cut your cables to length. It's really not that hard. It can be done on your own if you're good with a soldering gun.

          Edit: Picture problems fixed.
