    1983 GS450E - Shims

What is the size of shims this motor uses, as in diameter, at least I think that's all I need to know?

I've been checking around and this is the info I seem to need to get the right ones.

Are they "29.5 mm" in diameter, or something else?

I believe thats the one. There are some that are slightly smaller (kawasaki) i think, they do fit and end up flying out. So beware!

You need to know the thickness as well, the reason your going to change them is to get the right gap between the shim and camshaft.

First you need to know what the gap is and then what size of shim you have in there. Then you can pick the size you need !

      OK, thanks.

Can anyone else verify that I have the correct diameter listed above?

I'm familiar with the shim club here, but what is "Z1", do you have a link?

Looks like that page is down now.

I found Z1, but found a better deal elsewhere.

Now that I've got all the parts and tools I think I'll need, I just need the time and nerve to attempt it! lol
