    Can anyone identify this oil cooler?

    Just picked this up. Anyone know what brand it is? Cooler is copper.

    Should i notch the filter cover like the "efe" cover is?

    That's a Derale oil cooler.
    1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
    1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

      Thank you. I thought it resembled one, but wasn't sure because the Derales i have seen use AN fittings. This one just has copper "nipples"

        Thats the same cover I have, except I blocked those oil passages and used the ones on either side of the cover on the block. I didnt modify mine like you are thinking of doing, but, I am using -8 AN fittings and line and an Earls cooler.
        The question is whether you think the cooler can flow well enough for ALL of the oil to the engine.

          Do you think i will be OK if i just notch my cover? What are the other two holes for?
